The following is an excerpted list from the full article, 6 Quick Tips for Sales Lead Gen
Quick Tip #1: Put a 2nd Offer on Your "Thank You" Page
Maybe the most valuable page on any given website is the page that appears after the visitor has signed up for a white paper or webinar. Yet, so many marketers do absolutely nothing with this incredible screen real estate sometimes known as the "Thank You" page and other times known as the "Success" page.
Quick Tip #2: Keep Your Landing Pages Up Longer
I find solo emails get clicks long after their original release date. Some subscribers tell me they save the solo (if it's a really good offer) so they can consider the offer at another time. Other subscribers pass them along to colleagues. One advertiser told me he got sign-ups to a webinar 9 months after the fact.
Quick Tip #3: Give It to Me Quick
I'm sure you've noticed that we all receive more and more messages. The frequency of the messages has increased, but the length of each gets shorter. Texting only allows for 160 characters while Twitter allows just 140.
Quick Tip #4: Make Sure Your Copy Tracks Properly
Does your landing page reinforce that the user has come to the right place? Is the title bar matching the message in the viewable HTML?
Quick Tip #5: Be Careful About Offering 2 Things in the Same Ad
I will get push-back on this, but in my experience, I have witnessed a fall in response rates when a single ad makes more than one offer. Many classically trained direct marketers will agree that a single ad offering multiple choices will result in the reader making no choice at all, except to not respond to your ad.
Quick Tip #6: Using Blogs for Sales Lead Gen
Let's face it; most people are not going to make any real money off ads in their blogs. But, blogs can be an extremely useful sales generation channel.
